NRL teams Round 19 2022: How every squad will line up for upcoming round

Manly have suffered a major blow ahead of their crucial clash against the Dragons, while the Roosters have made a big call on Luke Keary. Find out who’s in and who’s out for Round 19.

KFC SuperCoach: Play of the Week Round 18

Manly forwards Jake Trbojevic and Andrew Davey have been ruled out of Friday night’s clash with St George Illawarra after testing positive to Covid.

Trbojevic wasn’t named in the Manly side for the Jubilee Stadium clash after contracting the virus on Sunday evening. Davey has been named in the Sea Eagles’ back row but well-placed sources have confirmed he too has Covid and won’t play.

It’s a double blow for Manly ahead of the game with just two points separating the eighth-placed Sea Eagles and 11th-placed Dragons on the NRL ladder.

Toff Sipley has been named as the starting lock to replace Trbojevic.

Josh Schuster has been named on the interchange bench and could come onto an edge in place of Davey, while Ben Trbojevic or Ethan Bullemor could come into the team from the extended bench.

Manly coach Des Hasler preferred not to comment when contacted on Tuesday and did not revealed a replacement for Davey.

Off-contract forward Marty Taupau will play his 150th game for Manly.

Big boost for Roosters

Matt Lodge has been named to make his first start for the Sydney Roosters as they welcome back Luke Keary and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves for Friday night’s game against Newcastle.

Lodge has been named in the starting front row by coach Trent Robinson, having made his maiden appearance for the club last weekend following his mid-season move from the Warriors.

Before he joined the Roosters he spoke about the chance to play alongside Waerea-Hargreaves and that day has now arrived after the front row enforcer was named to make his return from a hamstring injury.

Waerea-Hargreaves will be joined on the comeback trail by Keary, who slots straight back into the No.6 jersey in a move that sees Joey Manu switch back to the centres.

Manu has been outstanding at five-eighth in Keary’s absence but Robinson has decided to reunite Keary and Sam Walker in the halves as he looks to maintain the Roosters’ finals push.
