NRL SuperCoach: Winners and Losers - Round 15

AS we head towards Round 15 Dave ‘VK’ Von Kotze takes a look at the men pulling big numbers but low ownership.

It’s SuperCoach POD watch.

1) Cody Walker (8.3 per cent ownership/$340,700)

Walker has been a revelation at fullback and averaged 84 since taking over the role at the back for the Rabbitohs. He still sits in over eight per cent of teams from the start of the year but looks at home in his new role. With an estimated round 15 price of $380,000 potential owners will have to pay big dollars for this rookie who started the season at $113,800.

2) David Fusitua (1.2 per cent ownership/$234,000)

Six tries in two games has seen Fusitua’s price graph head on a steep incline in the right direction. Fusitua is one of the best finishers in the NRL and has dangled the carrot for potential owners especially considering that the Warriors are playing the Roosters at home this weekend, who leaked plenty of points through their left side defence when they were hammered by the Storm 46-0 last round. Fusitua will be valued at around $293,000 this week.

TROUBLE: Graham could miss Origin

3) Issac Luke (4.7 per cent ownership/$334,000)

Luke has returned to form over the past fortnight and played the full game to score 104 against the Knights in round 14. He will now sit with a three game average of 71 and potential owners will need to make a move this week for around $355,000 as the 45 he scored in round 11 will drop out of his rolling average this week.

4) Bodene Thompson (1.4 per cent ownership/$380,500)

Scored another try with a line break to now sit with a three game average of 71 and a price tag of just over $402,000 this week. Thompson is a genuine POD with very low ownership but his high price needs to be taken into account.

5) Tuimoala Lolohea (3 per cent ownership/$283,400)

Lolohea’s combination with Shaun Johnson continues to develop and get stronger and his value will rise by $27,000 this week to sit somewhere near $310,000. Potential owners will also have to make the trade this week for the Warriors fullback who has averaged 88 in his last two games as his round eleven score of 20 against the Raiders leaves of his rolling average.

6) Kenny Edwards (1.4 per cent ownership/$257,400)

Made the move the five-eighth against the Titans and posted his highest score of the year. Edwards is only available at 2RF but only has one more bye next round, is still relatively cheap at $280,000 this week and has averaged 65 in the three games this season in which he has played the full-eighty.

7) Manu Ma’u (15.7 per cent ownership/$368,700)

Ma’u sits right on the borderline off being a POD but deserves mention after averaging 70 in his last four matches. Potential owners can pick him up for just under $380,000 this week but need to look at their teams for next week and ensure that they can cover Parramatta and Roosters players who will have a week off with their second and final bye of the year.

8) Dale Finucane (3.4 per cent ownership/$352,600)

As mentioned in previous POD articles Finucane will provide cover until round 18 and offers ultra- consistency with his current three game, five game and season average sitting within a range of 2 points of each other just below 60 points per game. Finucane’s score of 90 against the Roosters will also sit in is rolling average for the next few weeks which could lead to a handy price rise to allow for a trade to Andrew Fifita to occur after the representative period with little damage to the salary cap.

9) Jared Waerea- Hargreaves (1.3 per cent ownership/$314,200)

JWH has averaged 54 in his past four games for the tricolours and his price will stay relatively the same after falling just three points shy of his break-even against the Storm. He did create interest to those watching minutes after playing the full game for the first time this year. Potential owners need to take into account the absence of Dylan Napa which may have led to these increased minutes but definitely one to keep an eye on if these high minutes were not just a one-off occurrence.

10) Jack De Belin (1.5 per cent ownership/$389,000)

De Belin returned from injury and scored 48 in 54 minutes of game time which is 17 minutes less than his season average of 71 minutes per game. JDB will drop in value to $377,000 for round fifteen, sits with a six game average of 62 and will only have one more bye in round eighteen making him a genuine possibility if potential owners believe he will return to playing over 70 minutes a game.
