NRL SuperCoach 2016: Gorden Tallis cashes in by picking up Rabbitohs rookie Cody Walker

CHA-CHING! That’s the sound of me cashing in big time this week with my NRL SuperCoach side.

CHA-CHING!

That’s the sound of me cashing in big time this week with my NRL SuperCoach side.

I will admit it – GT’s Socialites have not even come close to reaching the expectations I have of them.

Cody Walker is a new addition to Gorden Tallis’s team.

Some players have been great.

Sam Burgess scored me a 270 as captain last week while Cameron Smith justified my faith in him with 86 points against the Titans.

But as a whole, the Socialites have been disappointing.

Corey Parker has been earning below average scores, Michael Gordon has not reached his potential and my five-eighth, Michael Morgan, has notched up a total of 40 points across two weeks.

So, with prices to change after Round 3, I have come in this week swinging the axe.

The first to go was Morgan.

While I highly rate the Cowboys playmaker, the halves of SuperCoach this year are already shaping as some of the standouts and I am getting left behind.

Not to mention, he could lose me some serious money next week.

In his place I picked up Rabbitoh Cody Walker and quite frankly, I’d be stupid not to.

Cody has come into the NRL and in two weeks shown that he’s a natural footballer.

He’s one of those guys that just plays footy.

He can complement Adam Reynolds or Luke Keary and has slipped into that South Sydney side with ease.

This is all being reflected in his SuperCoach scores and he is about to make around $75,000 as a result.

He is the perfect replacement for Morgan.

His arrival at the Socialites also means I have more cash to splash in other areas – namely at fullback.

With a heavy heart, I had to cut the great Billy Slater this week following news he will not play again this season.

As a big fan of Slater, I am disappointed for him and did not want to lose him from the Socialites.

But I’ve been left with no choice and have upgraded the Melbourne star to James Tedesco.

I believe the Tigers No.1 will be a worthy replacement of Slater.

He has been outstanding to start the season. In fact, he’s been the best player in the competition so far for me.

Hopefully he can continue that form this week and help push the Socialites towards the top of SuperCoach once again.
