MERE points separated the first two matches of Round 10 in the NRL, which allowed for some outstanding SuperCoach results already.

Far from being highly rated before the season began, Jordan Rapana continues to produce outstanding performances and his price tag will receive another boost after this week’s effort.

DRAGONS

Tyson Frizell (92): has come right into contention for the bye period crashing over from close range for a try with a line-break. Spent a decent portion of the game in the middle as opposed to his usual position on right edge and delivered plenty of base stats including 28 tackles, 16 hit-ups and 6 tackle busts. Frizell will only change in value by around $12,000 after coming into the game with a breakeven of 67 and will be somewhere around the $360,000 mark next round.

Euan Aitken (78): left many SuperCoaches yelling obscenities at their televisions after he scored the match-winner in golden point. Aitken sat in plenty watch lists and potential owners were hoping for a quieter game so he would decrease in value because he had a breakeven of 75. Aitken’s price will remain at just over $275,000 as a result of another strong base-stat performance made up of 10 runs of more than 8 metres, an effective offload and 30 tackles.

Mitch Rein (69): another candidate who may fill the hooker role in many teams during the coming weeks due to the Nathan Peats fiasco. Boosted his score with a try assist and line-break assist but his 69 will remain in his rolling average for the next few weeks, he will cover the first two bye rounds and will come with a price tag of around $295,000 next week.

Rein’s strong form places him as an excellent bye cover option.

Gareth Widdop (24): looked dangerous on numerous occasions during the game but his efforts weren’t rewarded with decent SuperCoach points. Widdop has a heavy involvement in attack and owners should be patient at least until round 16.

RAIDERS

Jordan Rapana (111): will soar over the $500,000 mark this week after scoring his eighth try in four games. Rapana has maintained an unbelievable run of form, running rampant once again with 3 line-breaks, 11 tackle busts, 2 effective offloads and 20 runs with 13 of those runs passing the 8 metre mark.

Jarrod Croker (108): rewarded those who traded him in this week with a triple-figured boomer. Croker felt no ill effects of a four-day turnaround from the representative round crossing for a try to compliment his 2 line-breaks, 2 effective offloads, 2 goals, 23 tackles and 7 tackle-busts.

Joseph Leilua (98): came alive in the second half to set up yet another try for his brother from another mother Jordan Rapana. Leilua will surge in value again by nearly $60,000 this week and is a big chance to follow Rapana into the exclusive $500,000 club in the next few weeks after falling just short of cracking the ton with 13 tackle busts, 4 offloads, a line-break assist and 19 runs.

Paul Vaughan (61): smashed out an impressive score considering he only played 47 minutes to make more than $35,000 for those SuperCoaches who brought him in due to his -11 breakeven. Vaughan was a base-stat beast with 35 tackles, 14 hit ups and an effective offload.

Luke Bateman (51): played 44 minutes for his highest SuperCoach score thanks to 6 hit-ups that were more than 8 metres and 41 tackles. More than $20,000 will be added to his price tag and to the team-value of those who own the Raiders’ cheapie.

Shaun Fensom (45): only played 45 minutes due to a shoulder injury. Left the field just before halftime, returned for around 10 minutes of the second half and then was replaced again. Owners may be forced into a decision to trade if scans return bad news.

EELS

Semi Radradra (107): a hat-trick of tries meant popular Perfect 8 choice Semi Radradra cracked the ton and kept many SuperCoaches in the hunt for the $70,000 jackpot. Many owners who put the blue VC square on the ‘Semi Trailer’ will have a decision to make when the first round of updates come in with the vice-captain loophole a tempting prospect.

Michael Gordon (68): bounced back well from his injury-affected 11 last round to put together his highest score of the year so far. Gordon had 20 carries during which he made a line-break, a line-break assist, 5 tackle busts and threw the last pass for one of Semi’s tries.

Manu Ma’u (63): signalled his intentions to sit in more than five per cent of teams as we approach the Origin period after hitting the ball up 17 times, assisting in a line-break and making four offloads.

Vai Toutai (51): scored a try with a line-break and could tempt many next week due to his low breakeven and price tag that should be somewhere near the $180,000 mark, however, could also be a T-R-A-P with Kieran Foran possibly returning next round.

Isaac De Gois (26): played 70 minutes but didn’t overly impress from a SuperCoach perspective scoring at a PPM of 0.37.

Kenny Edwards (6): only played nine minutes before leaving the field concussed after becoming a little too up close and personal with Greg Inglis’s forearm. Edwards will lose more than $17,000 after missing his breakeven by 34 points.

RABBITOHS

Sam Burgess (83): many owners were cautious as to what impact the ankle he injured two weeks ago would have on his SuperCoach output and took the captain’s armband of big Sammy, however, he ripped in for 23 hit-ups, an offload, 32 tackles and a cheeky little line-break late in the game to deliver another stellar performance.

Burgess showed no ill effects of injury.

Greg Inglis (75): played in the halves and switched to centre late in the game to create the play that led to the match-winning try for Luke Keary (54). GI’s 11 runs, 2 line-breaks, a line-break assist, 5 tackle busts and 19 tackles will secure him a $40,000 jump in value if he holds on to his current score.

Paul Carter (35): definitely worth persisting with for those who still own him. Played 75 minutes and defended strongly making 35 tackles and nearly grabbed a try assist off the boot.

Jack Gosiewski (24): saw 45 minutes of game time on debut that will spark some interest but unless he maintains these minutes next round and scores around the 50 mark, this 2RF cheapie won’t get much of a look.
