Don't miss out on the headlines from SuperCoach. Followed categories will be added to My News.
It feels like a defining round coming up for SuperCoaches.
Do we chase cheapies like Isaiah Tass from the Rabbitohs and Manly’s Christian Tuipulotu or do we reach for a potential keeper like Xavier Coates?
Me? I’m selling two mid-rangers this week and leaning towards one cheapie option – Tuipulotu not Tass as I grabbed him a couple of weeks ago when I needed a bottom-dollar CTW with potential – and one keeper.

Tuipulotu has a BE of -44, his job security is solid thanks to both his good form and Manly’s horror run of injuries to outside back – and then there’s the strong chance that Tom Trbojevic returns this week which is great news for every Manly outside back.
There’s plenty of reasons to hope Tuipulotu will add around $120-$150K and as an added bonus he plays round 13.
I’m not against Coates, you can’t really take a position against a guy who has scored seven tries in two games can you?
However, I would point out that across rounds 5/6 Coates scored a total of 33 points in two games, two games in which the Storm scored a combined 13 tries.
In short, no tries, no points for X, and the team can score tries without him scoring them.
If Coates goes tryless over the next two weeks then he’ll make $50K and face a BE of around 140. That’s the risk.
If Coates bags, say a double then a single in the next two weeks he’ll make $150K and face a BE of around 90.
No definitive answer from me here, just some stats to ponder.
And with that let’s get talking trades!
