NRL Sunday: SuperCoach scores and analysis from Roosters vs. Warriors, Titans vs. Cowboys

With injuries continuing to plague playmakers in round 10 of the NRL, the Roosters’ attacking vein of form could give SuperCoaches a much-needed boost. Catch up on all the action and see our full list of Sunday SuperCoach winners and losers.

SuperCoach NRL: Buy, Hold, Sell Round 10

If Roosters players weren’t on your radar, they should be now.

Anyone in their backline is a good start, but if you want to forgo an expensive option, Daniel Tupou is scoring well.

With the halfback injury crisis engulfing the game, Sam Walker also looms as a smart buy.

In Queensland, Reuben Cotter and Beau Fermor are still strong mid-range forward buys.

Depending on how they pull up after being forced from the field, AJ Brimson and Kieran Foran will be become sells.

SUPERCOACH WINNERS

Dominic Young (CTW) – 148 pts: With a break even of -4, Roosters winger Dominic Young did much, much more than he needed to impress owners. He scored most of his 148 points in the first half against the Warriors, and finished the game with two tries, 272 metres, nine tacklebreaks and five linebreaks.

Angus Crichton (2RF) – 96 pts: The biggest winner of the weekend is NSW hopeful Angus Crichton, who is on a hot streak of form. He did give away a couple of penalties late in the game but with a -52 break even, he stands to make owners $121,500k.

Daniel Tupou (CTW) – 52 pts: The cheaper option in the Roosters’ stacked backline, Tupou will make money for his owners this week even though his points aren’t the biggest on the team. He finished the game with one linebreak, three linebreak assists and one try assist.

Sam Walker (HFB) – 92 pts: His magical cross-field kick for a try isn’t the only reason to consider Walker for your side. Halfbacks are going down like flies and with Origin coming, you’ll at least be assured he’s playing. At $574,900, he’s worth it.

Addin Fonua-Blake (FRF) – 89 pts: The Warriors struggled badly against the Rosters but leading prop Fonua-Blake scored a try to bump up his points. He finished the match with one try, 162 metres, six tackle-breaks and one line-break.

David Fifita (2RF) – 94 pts: A sterling first half helped David Fifita finish Sunday with the third-most points of any player, with one try, 117 metres, nine tackle-breaks and one line-break to his name. He continues making money for anyone who has him as a set and forget.

Jeremiah Nanai (2RF) – 77 pts: Nanai was the biggest factor in the Cowboys’ attacking finally firing against the Titans, and the Maroons back-rower can sniff out a try (he scored two). At $585,100, he’s a bargain option (probably post-Origin).

Beau Fermor (2RF) – 68 pts: Fermor continues to be a sneaky pointscorer for coaches, with his 161 metres, three tacklebreaks and one linebreak making him one of the best on the park for the Titans. He should make around $10k for coaches.

Reuben Cotter (2RF) – 64 pts: 48 tackles solidified Cotter’s worth. With an average of 73 from his past three matches, Cotter has been averaging well higher than his 2024 season average of 62, and is making money.

SUPERCOACH LOSERS

AJ Brimson (FLB) – 70 pts: This is obviously no fault of his own but Brimson leaving the field with a groin complaint when he was already on 70 points hurt. It will remain to be seen whether it’s a long-term injury, and it will affect the Titans team in general considering how much they floundered when he and Kieran Foran left the field.

Shaun Johnson (HFB) – 34 pts: Another injured halfback is bad news for SuperCoaches and the Warriors. Johnson battled with a left pec/shoulder complaint in the club’s big loss against the Roosters, and stayed on the field for most of the match. He is owned by 19.7% of SuperCoaches and had a 96 (!) break even before the game.

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (CTW) – 22 pts: DWZ will lose the most money of any Warriors this week after a poor showing that including him picking up an injury in the dying stages of the match. At $616k, it may be worth finding a cheaper option for your backline.

Wayde Egan (HOK) – 47 pts: Egan (surprisingly) didn’t start the game and that affected his output. Keep an eye on teamlists to see if this is a permanent move, because after losing almost $20k this week it may be a good idea to sell early.

Te Maire Martin (5/8-FLB) – 35 pts: Thirteen per cent of SuperCoaches own Martin and like the rest of his team, he failed to fire against the Roosters. He’s still reasonably priced and it’s helpful he’s a dual-position player, but we’ll be keeping an eye on him.

Scott Drinkwater (FLB) – 49 pts: Drinkwater came alive in the final 20 minutes of the game against the Titans but it was too late for SuperCoaches and the Cowboys. He still had steady stats with 179 metres and six tackle-breaks, but he is bleeding cash.

Heilum Luki (2RF) – 38 pts: Luki will lose another $50k this week with his 38-point haul. He’s a cheap option no doubt, but unless the Cowboys can lift their game he doesn’t appear to be a smart choice at this stage.

Valentine Holmes missed a try opportunity. Picture: NRL Photos

Valentine Holmes (CTW) – 58 pts: Everyone loves Valentine and it can’t be helped when his team plays terribly for the first 60 minutes of a game. He missed a tryscoring chance himself and with the Cowboys down on form, he’s an expensive keeper in your backline.

Reece Robson (HOK) – 56 pts: 56 points is not terrible for a hooker, especially if he’s your backup, but at $619k you want a little more value here.

FULLTIME: Titans 20 – Cowboys 18

The Titans has somehow managed to cling on to a win without scoring any second half points and finishing the game with no men on the bench.

The Cowboys star SuperCoach players peaked towards the end of the match, giving their owners some reprieve.

75th and 78th minute: Tries tries tries, Titans 20 – Cowboys 18

Nanai and Feldt score and somehow the Cowboys are 2 points from levelling scores!

61st minute: Titans 20 – Cowboys 6

AJ Brimson is now also off the field with a groin complaint. The Titans are down to one on the bench.

61st minute: Titans 20 – Cowboys 6

They’re in! Jeremiah Nanai scores from a kick. Could this be the break the Cowboys need?

Meanwhile, Titans five-eighth Kieran Foran has left the field with a hamstring complaint.

58th minute: Titans 20 – Cowboys 0

The Cowboys have tried and tried again to crack the Titans but they aren’t getting anywhere on their tryline.

Scott Drinkwater (21 points) and Valentine Holmes (24 points) need to pull something out of their hats to keep their owners happy.

37th minute: Titans 20 – Cowboys 0

A mix up at the back has led to another try to the Cowboys, this time via AJ Brimson.

It has highlighted how much the Cowboys have gone off the boil since their opening wins in 2024.

SuperCoach-wise, David Fifita and Brimson lead the charge due to their attacking prowess, but Reuben Cotter and Reece Robson are on the board as they administer tackle after tackle.

26th minute: Titans 14 – Cowboys 0

The other Fifita (David) goes in for a try. The Cowboys appear to have lost some steam from the opening exchanges from the game, and it could spell danger signs.

21st minute: Titans 8 – Cowboys 0

They’re in! Titans winger Jojo Fifita scores the first try in the sixth game of his career.

18th minute: Titans 2 – Cowboys 0

It was ALMOST party-time for Reuben Cotter owners but the lock lost the ball just short of the tryline.

There are nowhere near as many SuperCoach points on offer as the beginning of the Roosters v Warriors game (yet), with Cotter leading the stats on 8 points.

Onto Titans v Cowboys! Titans 2 – Cowboys 0

Brian Kelly opened the scoring for the home team with a penalty goal in the 5th minute.

David Fifita is earning a few boos from fans whenever he touches the ball after signing a contract with the Roosters for next season.

Here are some SuperCoach players we’ll be keeping an eye on.

FULLTIME: Roosters 38 – Warriors 18

An entertaining game that will have Roosters coach Trent Robinson sweating for the next few days.

Luke Keary will likely be pinged by the judiciary for a chicken wing tackle.

Joseph Suaalii, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Angus Crichton are also on report.

Dom Young had one of his incredible attacking games. If we can see a few of those in a row he will be a solid buy at the back-end of the season.

76th minute: Walker try, Roosters 38 – Warriors 18

The Warriors, struggling with DWZ and CNK in back play, let another try through and the Roosters have well and truly won the game.

Shaun Johnson is still clearly uncomfortable and stayed on for most of the second half, so that will be something for SuperCoaches to keep an eye on during the week.

Watene-Zelezniak also went down late in the match.

69th minute: Fonua-Blake try, Roosters 32 – Warriors 18

Addin Fonua-Blake scores his fifth try of the season, barrelling over after a penalty and set restart that helped the Warriors up the field.

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was put on report for the penalty (late tackle) but shouldn’t be in too much trouble.

Fonua-Blake owners will be happy to see the big man on 81 points after a slow start.

61st minute: Nicoll-Klokstad try, Roosters 32 – Warriors 12

The Warriors are back over the tryline again following a couple of ill-disciplined plays by the Roosters.

While the Roosters have been dominant, no doubt Trent Robinson will have a bit to say about their back end of both halves.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad gets his team going SuperCoach-wise with 65 points after his try.

54th minute: Tedesco try, Roosters 32 – Warriors 6

Well, that didn’t last long. A wonderful play from Manu > Suaalii > Tedesco has the Roosters in again.

The Warriors have evened up some stars but the Roosters are still 7 linebreaks to 1.

Dom Young has crept up to 147 points and Joey Manu is now at 86.

50th minute: Warriors finally on the board, Roosters 26 – Warriors 6

The Warriors are in! Edward Kosi – called up to replace Roger Tuivasa-Sheck – scores in the left corner.

46th minute: Walker cross-field miracle, Roosters 26 – Warriors 0

The Roosters have come in screaming to the second half with one of the tries of the year so far.

An intercept followed by a strong Dom Young run opened the Warriors up and Sam Walker took advantage with a 50m cross-field kick to send Daniel Tupou over.

The Warriors are unsure what kind of injury Shaun Johnson has sustained but he’s strapped up and wants to play through the game.

HALFTIME: Roosters 22 – Warriors 0

If you’re one of the 15.4% of SuperCoach owners who have Dominic Young in your team, congratulations.

If you’re one of the 18.9% who have Shaun Johnson (me!) I am very sorry.

In Johnson’s defence, he appears to be playing injured.

Jackson Ford and Addin Fonua-Blake have crept into the top 10 at halftime, but the Roosters are still dominating.

35th minute: Johnson no try, Roosters 22 – Warriors 0

Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson appears delicate on the field, clutching at his left arm repeatedly (not helped by an interesting tackle on him from Luke Keary).

Somehow he goes over for a try but it’s given no try due to an obstruction.

He’s on an uncharacteristic 7 SuperCoach points as halftime beckons.

The Roosters are getting a bit loosey goosey with the ball, finally giving the Warriors some opportunity in the attacking zone, but nothing is really sticking.

20th minute: Brief respite

The Roosters not scoring for a couple of sets has given me some time to catch up on the numbers.

The Warriors are on 16 missed tackles to the Roosters’ zero.

Dom Young has somehow made FIVE linebreaks and is on 128 SuperCoach points.

Shaun Johnson seems to be in a bit of trouble with his shoulder/pec area, which will worry plenty of owners.

And there’s not a sign of a Warrior in the top 10 SuperCoach players.

13th minute: Crichton try, Roosters 22 – Warriors 0

It’s double time all over the field. A beautiful grubber from Luke Keary and a great chase by the in-form Angus Crichton gives him his second try.

He’s well in the frame for a NSW Origin jersey.

10th minute: Young try, Roosters 16 – Warriors 0

The Warriors are in BIG trouble. An error on their side of the half leads straight to a try off a scrum set play to guess who – Dominic Young.

He’s already on an incredible 108 SuperCoach points.

7th minute: Crichton try, Roosters 12 – Warriors 0

Roosters winger Dom Young is on today! His run after his first try was vital to Angus Crichton scoring to take the lead to 12.

The Roosters have already made 235 metres to the Warriors’ 85.

The Warriors have also made 10 missed tackles inside 10 minutes.

3rd minute: Keary chargedown, Roosters 6 – Warriors 0

There was a touching tribute to Jared Waerea-Hargreaves as he runs out with his family for his 300th game.

After a couple of strong early sets by both teams, Roosters five-eighth Luke Keary turned the tide early with a chargedown on the halfway line.

Dominic Young strolls in quite easily in the next set for the first try of the match.

1pm: Late mail

The Roosters make just the one change ahead of kick-off, with Naufahu Whyte dropping out and Egan Butcher moving to the bench.

Fetalaiga Pauga has been named at 18th man.

For the Warriors, Freddy Lussick comes into the starting line-up with Wayde Egan shifting to the bench.

Lussick returns from a four-match suspension for an ugly tackle in the NSW Cup that injured Lachlan Ilias.

Adam Pompey is in the centres for the injured Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, with Edward Cosi filling in the vacant wing spot after Marcelo Montoya was also omitted.

Lots of popular assets from this fixture, who are you keeping an eye on?

Most owned SuperCoach players from this Roosters vs. Warriors clash

It’s a big day for NRL SuperCoach with some heavy hitters in play across the two Sunday games.

Action kicks off at 2pm with the Roosters taking on the Warriors, where SuperCoaches will be looking for points all over the park.

In the forward department, Roosters guns Angus Crichton ($712,600) and Terrell May ($533,600) both hit centuries for points last week, pleasing most but frustrating those who said farewell to May after a couple of slow weeks.

Addin Fonua-Blake ($753,300) is the most-picked player in this fixture at a massive 42.2%, closely followed by Roger Tuivasa-Sheck ($549,100) at 41.3%.

Shaun Johnson ($765,500) saw a points slump in round nine with 45 points, so no doubt his 19.7% ownership will be rallying for the veteran half to bounce back this week.

The final fixture of round 10 sees a Queensland derby between the Titans and Cowboys, with the majority of SuperCoach eyes on the North Queensland side.

Reuben Cotter ($600,100) rewarded his 33% ownership with a 99 point return in round nine against the Dolphins, with Thomas Dearden ($606,400) also smashing his projected points with a return of 87.

Valentine Holmes took a bit of a back seat in the fixtures with just 59 points, with his 24.9% ownership hoping he can bounce back to his round three pointscoring highs.

AJ Brimson ($681,900) has been scoring tremendously at fullback, but there have been suggestions he’ll be lining up in the halves, which could dampen his scoring ceiling.

Who have you got for this one?
