Maverick MP Bob Katter has picked his top players for this year’s KFC SuperCoach
“Bob Katter has not rated a Rabbit so highly since he first bought that rabbit-skin akubra sitting on top of his head.” Find out who Bob Katter has picked as his KFC 2020 SuperCoach must-haves.

MAVERICK MP Bob Katter knows a thing or two about rugby league.
The diehard rugby league supporter claims to have been the Mid-West Queensland Rugby League Club president at one stage – as well as a life member – so he has a keen eye on what it takes to be a quality footy player.
With this impressive resume, we’ve called upon the colourful North Queenslander to provide us with his top seven players to have in your KFC SuperCoach team this year.
Damien Cook (Rabbitohs, $705,500, HOK)
Bob Katter has not rated a Rabbit so highly since he first bought that rabbit-skin akubra sitting on top of his head. Cook starts the year at a rather expensive $705,500 but he will definitely earn you bang for your buck this year in a star-studded South Sydney squad. KFC SuperCoach stats reveal he averaged 75.9 points last year – the third highest in the NRL.
Mitchell Moses (Eels, $579,300, HFB)
The flashy halfback ended the 2019 season in his best form to date, epitomised by his performance against the Broncos in their 58-0 drubbing at Bankwest Stadium in the preliminary finals. It definitely caught the eyes of many KFC SuperCoaches (he’s picked in 30 per cent of teams already) as well as the eyes of Katter who believes he’s a must-have half this year.
Latrell Mitchell (Rabbitohs, $653,100, CTW/ FLB)
He’s as dangerous as a taipan in a sleeping bag which makes Latrell one of the players to own this year. Don’t worry about his price tag – he’s worth every penny, according to Katter. With an average 70.3 points with the Roosters last year, he is sure to reach another level at his new home at Redfern this year.
James Roberts (Rabbitohs, $392,700, CTW)
If there was one New South Welshman for Katter to praise, it’s Jimmy the Jet. The lightning quick South Sydney centre had a tumultuous 2019, having started at Brisbane before moving to Redfern in the first half of the year. Despite the rollercoaster season, he still managed a 40.3 average. No doubt he’ll up the ante with a full pre-season under Wayne Bennett and his good mate Latrell now at the club.
James Tedesco (Roosters, $781,500, FLB)
To Bob, there’s only one legendary fullback, “Queensland’s greatest ever son” Billy Slater. But it’s quite the compliment for Tedesco who has been named as Katter’s must-pick fullback for 2020. There’s no doubting Tedesco’s incredible ability, averaging 84.1 points last year and showing no signs of slowing.

Corey Parker’s plan to turn Broncos into KFC SuperCoach musts
Michael Morgan (Cowboys, $471,600, 5/8/ HFB)
He has Bob’s blessing and full support to lead the Cowboys yet again this year. “Morgo” is an Origin representative and led the Cowboys to the 2017 NRL Grand Final without the great Johnathan Thurston by his side so there’s no doubting his talent. His teammates fell like flies last year due to injury so as long as the Cowboys stay fully fit this year, Morgan can go huge in KFC SuperCoach. Plus, he now has his brother-in-law Valentine Holmes beside him this year.
Jake Clifford (Cowboys, $304,200, 5/8/ HFB)
As a proud Far North Queenslander, Katter has a soft spot for anyone from his neck of the woods. And Clifford, hailing from Tully, is just one of them. The tiny NQ town has produced some great rugby league talent, with fellow Tully local Thomas Flegler also becoming a mainstay at the Broncos. Clifford, 22, is slowly finding his boots in the Cowboys halves and could be a sneaky mid-range cheapie for the risk-taking KFC SuperCoach.
