He was the most destructive forward in his heyday and now Gorden “Raging Bull” Tallis has picked the next young bucks to fire for KFC SuperCoaches this season.
Here are his five must-have forwards to pick ahead of this season.
David Fifita (Broncos, 2RF, $501,900)
Averaged 54 last year and that’s after playing off the bench for the better part of last year. In his last eight games, playing 80 minutes, he averaged 76.9 points per game. He’s a tackle busting wrecking ball and is sure to play bigger minutes this year.
Jason Taumalolo (Cowboys, 2RF, $723,400)
Was hit with injury in the early stages of last year, and if it wasn’t for that, he would have easily finished the year higher than his already mind-blowing 77.8 PPG. The Cowboys are building for something special up there at the moment and they will no doubt be led by the best forward in the game – Taumalolo.
Corey Harawira-Naera (Bulldogs, 2RF, $557,600)
Did that raise your eyebrows somewhat? Well there’s method to the madness. The rampaging backrower averaged 60 PPG last season is priced as a mid-range gun. With only five per cent of KFC SuperCoaches on board so far, he’s a worthy POD to have up your sleeve.
Moeaki Fotuaika (Titans, FRF, $443,000)
He’s a weapon of a kid and the Titans will be looking to him to lead from the front this season. He’s priced really well because he only played limited minutes last year. From one 80 minute game against the Warriors last year, he pumped out a massive 75 points – so he has potential. He does start the year with a wrist and knee concern, which has scared many KFC SuperCoaches off.
Josh Papalii (Raiders, FRF, $605,300)
One of the hardest-working footballers you will ever come across. Now in his 10th year in the NRL, Papalii is getting finer with age. Averaged 65.1 last year to lead Canberra into last year’s Grand Final. He put up scores of 101, 94 and 91 along the way.
