Queensland team for 2018 State of Origin series opener

GREG Inglis has been confirmed as Queensland’s new captain while veterans Darius Boyd and Matt Scott have both been overlooked.

IT’S official - Matt Scott’s Origin career is all but over.

The veteran Cowboys prop was excluded from Kevin Walters’ side for Game One after a lacklustre start to the season with Dylan Napa and Jarrod Wallace preferred.

Queensland also overlooked stalwart Darius Boyd with Valentine Holmes and Dane Gagai selected on the wing.

Andrew McCullough will replace Cameron Smith at hooker while Ben Hunt slots in at halfback ahead of Daly Cherry-Evans.
