Deputy premier mocks Gladys Berejiklian over viral State of Origin photo storm

A PR photo of Gladys Berejiklian during the State of Origin opener has taken on a new life, with one of her closest allies even joining in on the fun.

A seemingly innocent PR stunt that showed the NSW Premier during Wednesday’s State of Origin opener has taken on a new life.

Gladys Berejiklian shared a photograph of herself on Twitter donning a NSW Blues scarf and beanie while watching a small television screen in the distance.

Ms Berejiklian was holding a can of Coke No Sugar in a very casual fashion.

But minutes after the photograph was sent out by her public relations team, the memes started flooding in.

Even NSW’s Deputy Premier John Barilaro joined in on the fun, showing plenty of enthusiasm for game two later this month by recreating his own version of the picture and uploading it to Twitter.
