KANGAROOS and Maroons teammates Corey Parker and Matthew Scott have dominated their respective clubs' award presentation nights.
Just hours after Broncos chief executive Paul White dismissed speculation linking Test captain Cameron Smith to Brisbane, Parker won five awards, including the most sought after honours, Player of the Year and Players’ Player.
North Queensland co-captain Scott completed a rare double by winning both the Paul Bowman Medal as Cowboy of the Year and Players’ Player.
The 28-year-old front-rower previously won the two awards in 2010 and is now the only Cowboy to do the double in two seasons.
He held off a late charge from fellow co-captain Johnathan Thurston, who collected a sequence of votes during the club’s six-game end-of-season winning streak.
Cowboys general manager of football Peter Parr said Scott’s 2013 season showed he belonged in the upper echelon of NRL players.
"In our opinion, there’s no better forward in the game," Parr said.
