The Warriors have made history by becoming the first NRL club to sell out all of its home games, with confirmation their final two matches of 2024 will be full houses as support for rugby league continues to grow across the ditch.

It means all of their games at Go Media Stadium in Auckland sold out this year, with tickets no longer available for the matches against Parramatta and Canterbury next month.

It’s an incredible achievement for a club that was destroyed by constant travel during Covid but has become the biggest team in New Zealand after they rode the “Up the Wahs” chant in 2023 to reach the preliminary final.

Such is their popularity that a Super Rugby semi-final had to be brought forward a few hours so it wouldn’t clash with the NRL team – something that seemed impossible only a few years ago.

“It’s an unbelievable achievement and one we’re very proud of,” Warriors chief executive Cameron George said.

“Most of all this is a tribute to our members and fans who have been behind the team and the club all the way. They’re the heroes here, simply the best fans there are.”

The Warriors also sold out a match against the Raiders in Christchurch as well as their two trial games, which has led to calls for the NRL to bring in a second New Zealand team.

The atmosphere at games over there has been unrivalled, with the signs in the crowd the best in the NRL.

“It’s a fantastic effort to sell out every game this season” injured skipper Tohu Harris said, with 20 of their past 25 home games selling out.

“As players we can’t say enough about what our fans mean to us when we run out to a packed house at home game after game.

“We’re so grateful to them and how loyal they are. The atmosphere they create is the best in the NRL. Nothing beats playing at Go Media Stadium.”
