Greg Inglis has only just hung up his boots from rugby league but already talk has begun on who will replace him at South Sydney.
Inglis’ departure leaves a huge void at the Rabbitohs, whose outside back stocks have been further complicated by an injury to young gun Braidon Burns.
Over the past fortnight Jacob Gagan and Kyle Turner have filled in for South Sydney at centre, but general manager of football Shane Richardson confirmed to The Daily Telegraph’s Dean Ritchie that the club was ready to make a move.
“He said to me they’ve already got the money to go out and buy a replacement,” Ritchie told the Monday Bunker.
Paul Crawley said Inglis’ retirement would free up cash for South Sydney to chase a marquee signing — and the club might already have a Broncos player in their sights.
“There’s some talk going on that something might happen with James Roberts.”
