MATCH CENTRE: KNIGHTS V ROOSTERS

4.45pm - Late flurry gets Chooks home

TRIES to Sonny Bill Williams and Boyd Cordner at the death kick the Roosters clear of a gallant Knights outfit, with the game finishing up with a scoreline that flattered the visitors. FULL-TIME: Roosters 28 d Knights 12.

***

4.33pm - Penalty sets up grandstand finish

DANNY Buderus elects to go for two from directly in front, rather than trying to score a try to get within striking distance of the Roosters. Tyrone Roberts obliges to get the Knights within six. Roosters 18-12 Knights.

PROLIFIC try-scoring winger James McManus goes over in the corner to give the Knights every chance of scoring a comeback win after Darius Boyd gives him free passage to the line. Tyrone Roberts misses the sideline conversion horribly. Roosters 18-10 Knights.

BIG prop Sam Moa profits from a terrific Daniel Mortimer short ball, diving over from close range to give the Roosters first blood in the second half. Roosters 18-6 Knights.

***

4pm - Roosters lead at the break

A RUNAWAY try to Michael Jennings gives the Roosters a narrow lead at half-time after Shaun Kenny-Dowall opened the scoring for the Chooks and Darius Boyd hit back with an 80 metre try - just beating Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to the line. HALF-TIME: Roosters 12-6 Knights.

3.27pm - Roosters get first points

SHAUN Kenny-Dowall gets across the line to give the Roosters the lead against the run of play. Roosters 6-0 Knights.

***

3.22pm - SBW on report for shoulder charge

WHEN it was legal he was the best in the business at using his muscular shoulder and Sonny Bill took us back to yesteryear with a big hit on Willie Mason. The Knights get a penalty but no damage done on the scoreboard. Knights 0-0 Roosters.

***

3.15pm - Good start for Knights

THE Knights have started well to put plenty of pressure on the Roosters' defence but they can't yet crack the high flyers from Bondi. Knights 0-0 Roosters

3.24pm - Roberts gets Panthers' first

THE Panthers are finally on the board through flying winger James Roberts, who raced through to get his hand on a grubber kick just as it was about to roll dead. Sharks 26-4 Panthers.

***

1.43pm - Storm set-up grandstand finish

THE Warriors bomb a good opportunity to kill the game with a terrible last play option and the Storm take full advantage, going 90 metres in the next set for Cooper Cronk to score. Cam Smith adds the extras and the Warriors are clinging on to a two-point lead with five minutes to play. Warriors 24-22 Storm.

***

1.26pm - Warriors steady the ship

AFTER Cam Smith horribly messes up a penalty attempt that would have levelled the scores, the Warriors regain some composure before powerhouse winger Konrad Hurrell finishes some good play down the right to go over in the corner. Johnson kicks the goal to extend the Warriors lead beyond a converted try. Warriors 24-16 Storm.

***

1.17pm - Fightback well under way

The Storm look ominous at the start of the second half with Billy Slater going over after a typical combination play with Cooper Cronk and Cam Smith. Maurice Blair makes it two in quick succession - going over in the opposite corner just a minute after the Storm bombed one, with Ryan Hoffman dropping the ball as he attempted a pass with the try-line gaping. Warriors 18-16 Storm.

***

12.50pm - Big job ahead for Storm

THAT'S half-time and there's plenty of work to do for the Storm if they're to claw their way back into this one. Warriors 18-4 Storm.

***

12.45pm - Warriors take command

AFTER soaking up a few waves of Storm attack, Thomas Leuluai goes over for a try under the sticks and Johnson follows up with a conversion and a penalty goal - both from in front of the sticks. Warriors 18-4 Storm.

***

12.24pm - Storm hit back

AND just like that the Storm are on the board through Justin O'Neill - the winger taking full toll of a Cooper Cronk 40-20. That's immediately followed by a Cam Smith 40-20 and the Storm go breathtakingly close to a leveller, but are denied through a forward pass in the right corner. Warriors 10-4 Storm.

***

12.20pm - Warriors off to hot start

YOUNG winger Ngani Laumape has notched a double in the right corner in double quick time with the Warriors playing a confident brand of football to put the defending premiers firmly on the back foot. Warriors 10-0 Storm.
