Queensland sports fans have been left reeling after its four teams failed to win a single premiership during the 2023 grand finals weekend.

The Brisbane Lions, Brisbane Broncos, the Gold Coast Titans women’s team and the Brisbane Tigers were unable to secure a single win across in their respective AFL, NRL and NRLW grand final matches.

The unthinkable happened when all three teams lost in nail biting games to their opponents.

The Lions lost by four points to Collingwood, who won the nail biting AFL grand final 90-86 at the MCG on Saturday.

All eyes then turned to the Gold Coast women’s team to do the state proud.

Despite their greatest efforts, the Titans were beaten by the Newcastle Knights in a devastating 24-18 loss on Sunday.

And then the Brisbane Broncos were crushed at the last minute, with Penrith Panthers securing the 26-24 win.
