The Norths Devils will kick off their title defence on the road next season with an away game against the Townsville Blackhawks scheduled as their season opener in 2022.
Queensland’s premier rugby league competition – which has been rebranded next year from the Intrust Super Cup to the Hostplus Cup – will begin Saturday March 19 with four blockbuster games to be played across the state.
On the Sunday, the 2021 premiers will then be forced to defend their title away from home at Jack Manski Oval, Townsville to open their season.
Runners up Wynnum Manly will look to make amends from their grand final loss when they host Burleigh (3rd) at BMD Kougari Oval on March 20 while the Magpies and Capras battle it out at Davies Park.

The Queensland Rugby League will on Wednesday officially reveal its entire 2022 season calendar following a Covid-interrupted 2021 season.
This year saw the competition reduced to just 19 regular season games after Covid lockdowns forced the QRL to postpone and cancel several rounds.
It is hoped the 2022 season will be played out without many hurdles, with the finals series scheduled to start on the weekend of September 3.
Next year’s Hostplus Grand Final will return to Moreton Daily Stadium at Redcliffe on September 25 after 7200 fans flocked to the suburban ground to watch the Devils and Seagulls battle it out in a 16-10 thriller last season.
The fan-favourite XXXX Rivalry Round will also return in Round 4 which will see age-old hatreds reignited between clubs such as Redcliffe and Wynnum Manly, while the Country Week will be held in Round 16.
The Hostplus Cup proved how successful it is in breeding first grade talent in 2021, with 24 players graduating from the state-based competition into the NRL.
Another crop of talented players are also in line to make their NRL debuts next year, such as QRL Player of the Year Jayden Berrell who signed a one-year deal with the Sharks.
