Queensland Residents will unleash the Hermanator on Blues

BRONCOS prop Herman Ese’ese has been rewarded for a strong start to his season, earning his first representative jersey with the Queensland Residents.

BRONCOS prop Herman Ese’ese has been rewarded for a strong start to his season, earning his first representative jersey with the Queensland Residents.

Coach Aaron Zimmerle announced his side yesterday, with 21-year-old Ese’ese to be joined by young Titan Cameron Cullen and promising talent Jahrome Hughes in Sunday’s clash with NSW at Langlands Park in Brisbane.

Ese’ese has made a huge impact since his arrival back in his home state, which came after a failed NRL campaign with the Bulldogs last year which was marred by a drink driving charge.

The forward has managed to crack first grade with the Broncos and has been impressive for Intrust Super Cup side Souths Logan.

Ese’ese is the only Magpie to earn a call up for the Residents, with other Intrust Super Cup clubs Townsville, Redcliffe and the Northern Pride supplying three players each.

Cullen has starred in two games for the Titans this year and has played a huge role in leading Burleigh’s charge up the ladder.

Yesterday, the Bears proved their credentials with a 28-all draw with competition leaders the Blackhawks.

It was a thrilling clash after a round that saw Tweed Heads thrash Central Queensland 38-4, Sunshine Coast ease to a 28-4 victory over Norths and Wynnum Manly shock Northern Pride with a 34-6 scoreline.

Papua New Guinea pipped the Dolphins at the post with a 22-18 home victory while Easts edged out Souths Logan 38-32.
