ROOSTERS RAGE
The Sydney Roosters are fed up with player managers linking off-contract players to their club. Chairman Nick Politis has furiously denied weekend speculation the Roosters were to have talks with Parramatta Eels five-eighth Dylan Brown.
“We are not interested,” Politis said, “Whenever a big-name player comes off contract he is linked to us. It’s managers just trying to create interest.”
HOLY MOSES
It’s a bit hypercritical of new Parramatta Eels skipper Mitchell Moses to be publicly chiming into the debate about his halves partner Dylan Brown staying loyal to Parramatta.
On the eve of the season, Brown is shopping himself around and has meetings planned for this week with rival clubs.
And as for Moses, he’ll be doing exactly the same thing this time next year. He has the same escape clause in his own contract.
That Parramatta officials have allowed their two highest paid players to have these get-out opportunities is a shocking way to be running a football organisation.

The Ricky Stuart Foundation’s annual charity lunch on Friday at Doltone House will feature some of the biggest names in rugby league. Nathan and Ivan Cleary will be interviewed by Yvonne Sampson. Andrew and Matty Johns, who are apparently talking again, will be on stage together to be interviewed by Matt Nable and Bryan Fletcher.

The funeral for legendary South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Gary Stevens will be held at St Andrews Cathedral at 11.30am on Thursday followed by the wake at Souths Juniors. Stevens, who was 81, passed away last week after a long battle with dementia.
