THE resentment is so intense that Robbie Farah has knocked back a lunch with sparring partner Gorden Tallis that could have raised an extra $10,000 for former teammate Simon Dwyer.

Sportsbet spokesman Joel Caine put an offer to the feuding rugby league personalities to sell the lunch as an auction prize at the recent Dwyer fundraiser.

Tallis said he was only too happy to attend but Farah point-blank refused.

Instead, the Wests Tigers skipper came back with an offer to host a barbecue with his teammates as another auction item.

Gorden Tallis has been both praised and criticised for his honesty.

Footy is a tough game and feuds erupt all the time and then they blow over.

Tallis is still keen to bury the hatchet and move on.

This lunch would have been a great opportunity to do that and also help out one of Farah’s old teammates.

While on Dwyer, a surprise absentee from his fundraiser function was his long-time manager Gavin Orr, who says he had a prior commitment.

This is why veteran agent Wayne Beavis, who only met Dwyer in City Origin camp this year, had to step in and organise the function with Freddie Fittler and Rick Wayde.

FARAH HITS BCK AT BLOCKER BLAST

SAINT

You gotta love old footy legend Blocker Roach for putting Robbie Farah in his place at the Wests Tigers. The spray in Friday’s Daily Telegraph was a ripper and long overdue.

SINNER

The thuggery at the Women’s rugby union World Cup in France. A South African girl was suspended for 16 weeks for eye gouging and a Samoan player sent off for a shocking spear tackle that was worse than anything you’ll see in the NRL.

DRAGONS HUNGRY FOR BEEF

The Dragons are desperately looking to boost their forward pack with some big boppers for 2015. They are talking to the Bulldogs’ Sam Kasiano and the Titans’ Ryan James.

CHELSEA TIES DOWN NRL WILD MAN

This is the lady who has finally tamed rugby league wild man Jared Waerea Hargreaves.

Chelsea Cormack was recently engaged to the tearaway Roosters front-rower, who went out of his way to purchase the right diamond.

“A good mate Patrick Nader and I sat down heaps of times to discuss and design the perfect ring for Chelsea,” JWH said.

“Even though it’s a fair distance back and forth to Parramatta Westfield three times a week, it’s all worth it. I’ve got to give a massive thanks to Patty and Nader Jewellers.”

It’s a huge off-season coming up for Roosters players. Utility star Mitch Aubusson is also to marry his fiancee, journalist Laura Suckling. Michael Jennings and Kirra Wilden also got engaged last off season

And Sonny Bill Williams’ wife Alana Raffie is due to give birth to their first child in November.

BULLDOG LOOSE AT THE SCG

Colleague Dean Ritchie has finally found his niche in journalism.

That’s Bulldog at the SCG during the week working as a light assistant for ace photographer Gregg Porteous in a shoot with champion fullbacks Greg Inglis and Brett Stewart.

We can reveal the suit Bulldog is wearing is an old ‘hand-me-down’ from his good mate, Channel Ten weatherman, Timothy Bailey. True story.

HAPPY BARBA PREFERS NO.3

He might be struggling with his football form but Ben Barba has got his life together with partner Ainslee Currie since settling in Brisbane.

Ainslie is pregnant and due to deliver the couple’s third child in November, adding to their two beautiful daughters Bronte and Bodhi.

The couple have happily settled into a large family home in Brisbane and Barba is so happy he wants to finish his career at the Broncos.

It now remains to be seen if Wayne Bennett wants to keep him.

EAGLES TRYING TO LEAVE THE NEST

Nothing has changed at Manly with confirmation Anthony Watmough and Brett Stewart are still desperately trying to negotiate releases from their contracts.

If successful, Watmough will finish up at Parramatta and Stewart is more likely to be at the Canberra Raiders than the Bulldogs.

DCE SMACKS HORO WITH EPIC FALCON

Manly officials need to decide if they want to keep two disgruntled players on their books or use the money from their contracts to try to lock up Daly Cherry Evans and Kieran Foran.

Both halves are up for grabs at the end of next season.

CHOC RIGHTLY FULL OF PRIDE

This is not a prouder father in Australian sport than Anthony Watmough, whose daughter Claudia was chosen this week in the QLD development squad for canoe racing.

Choc took to social media to break the news to his army of followers.

“So stoked for this kid of mine ... she wakes up every morning on her own goes to training then to school then back to training in the afternoon ... I know how hard u have worked and to get there a year early and a year younger the others ... I’m one proud dad we spoke about this goal and how bad u wanted it and u went and got it.”

BRIDGE CLIMB ON JUVE’S AGENDA

The 60-strong Juventus entourage has enjoyed the spectacular harbour views from their $1,000-a-night deluxe rooms at the Park Hyatt at Circular Quay, the hotel normally reserved for rock stars and royalty.

BOZZA: WHY YOU CAN’T MISS JUVE V ALL STARS

So far the Juve stars haven’t had time for sightseeing but we’re told that climbing the Harbour Bridge and visiting Taronga Zoo are on the agenda once tonight’s match against the All Stars at ANZ Stadium is done and dusted.

For the record, Juve are Italy’s richest football club with revenues on $492m last season, the 9th richest worldwide. That’s more than the combined 16 NRL clubs spend.

FANS MAKE A SWIFT RESPONSE

While other sports struggle for numbers, the growth of netball and our team Sydney Swifts has gone crazy. Last season the Swifts had 1676 members, a club record and 12 per cent increase.

Memberships went on sale last week and topped 1000 within four days.

That’s without 60 per cent of last year’s members who are still to renew — and the competition doesn’t start until February.

Four of the Aussie girls who won gold in Glasgow, Kimberlee Green, Sharni Layton, Caitlin Thwaites, Julie Corletto and England captain Jade Clarke will turn out for the Swifts.
