Kangaroos coach Tim Sheens has rejected an offer to step in at the Cronulla Sharks in an emergency role for the rest of the season.
Sharks CEO Steve Noyce put an offer to Sheens late last night, not long after interim Peter Sharp handed in his resignation.

Sheens told the Daily Telegraph online this morning that he was too busy preparing the Kangaroos for the end of season Four Nations to take on the job.
The Sharks even had skipper and Test forward Paul Gallen ring Sheens to try and persuade him to take on the job.
“It was nice to get an offer but my entire focus is on the Kangaroos,’’ Sheens said. “It wouldn’t be fair to the players at all other clubs if I was just concentrating on one team for the rest of the season.’’
The Sharks have now set their sights on dumped Dragons coach Steve Price as a possible stand-in until Shane Flanagan returns in nine weeks.
Price is interested in the Sharks job but only if he can get a commitment to be an assistant coach at the club for the following two-years.
