A magical season is on the line for 10 Illawarra Steelers players on Thursday night, who form half of NSW’s under-19s State of Origin squad to face Queensland at Leichhardt Oval.

The Tarsha Gale Cup premiers were undefeated through to the decider in April, beating Newcastle 24-12 to cap off a perfect campaign.

Two of the brightest young stars of the women’s game, halves combination Kasey Reh and Evie McGrath, have been named to steer NSW around against the best talent north of the border.

They join eight of their Steelers teammates and Dragons hopefuls in the NSW side as they look to avenge last year’s 20-14 loss to Queensland.

Halfback Skyla Adams, who was named in the Queensland women’s squad for game two, will guide a stacked team of teenage prodigies around the paddock for the Maroons.
