NRL teams and Late Mail for Round 14 of season 2018

AS State of Origin wreaks havoc with the NRL, keep up to date with all the Round 14 team changes as coaches make calls on their players backing up.

State of Origin is wreaked havoc as NRL coaches assess whether NSW and Queensland players will back up for their club sides.

In the big news so far:

* In form Eels back-rower Manu Ma’u will miss Parramatta’s clash with his wife expecting to give birth this weekend.

* Knights prop Daniel Saifiti is out of Newcastle’s clash with the Roosters due to a foot injury that is likely to rule him out for 4-6 weeks.

* The Warriors have copped a big blow with star fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (ankle) ruled out.

* Maroons centre Will Chambers will miss out for the Storm after copping a one-week suspension from Origin I.

* Maroons stars Greg Inglis and Dane Gagai will miss South Sydney’s clash with the Gold Coast. Blues ace Damien Cook copped a whack to his sternum in the second half of the Origin opener but is set to play, along with Angus Crichton, but both have been named on the bench in the updated Rabbitohs side.

* Penrith coach Anthony Griffin is confident all four of his State of Origin stars — James Maloney, Nathan Cleary, Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Tyrone Peachey — will back up.

* Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (ankle) is in doubt for the Warriors with Peta Hiku set to switch to fullback.

* The Titans have confirmed Jai Arrow and Jarrod Wallace will back up despite a tight turnaround.

* Victorious NSW State of Origin siblings Jake Trbojevic and Tom Trbojevic have been cleared to play in Manly’s clash with the Warriors.

* The Roosters expect their full compliment of State of Origin stars - Latrell Mitchell, James Tedesco, Boyd Cordner and Dylan Napa - to back up.

* Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has confirmed winger Valentine Holmes will play against Wests Tigers on Sunday.

Late Mail: After a week staving off wintry Christchurch weather, Manly have been warmed by the arrival of the fit and firing Trbojevic brothers. Coach Trent Barrett confirmed victorious NSW State of Origin siblings Jake Trbojevic and Tom Trbojevic have been cleared to play in Saturday’s NRL clash with the Warriors. The pair crossed the Tasman on Thursday and are raring to go according to former Blues playmaker Barrett, who liked what he saw in the 22-12 defeat of Queensland in Melbourne. “I thought they both played really well. Tom, in particular, had a terrific game playing on the wing. A little bit out of position but he handled it really well,” Barrett told journalists.

Late Mail: The Roosters expect to have their full compliment of State of Origin stars available. Coach Trent Robinson said Latrell Mitchell, Boyd Cordner, James Tedesco and Dylan Napa would be required to get through Friday’s captain’s run but was confident they would back up. “I expect them all to play in some capacity,” Robinson said. Ryan Matterson (concussion) is still battling dizzy spells and has gone for minor wrist surgery, which will rule him out for another 1-2 weeks.
