NRL SuperCoach wrap Sunday round 14: Nathan Cleary flops, Savelio Tamale injury

More than half of SuperCoaches captained Nathan Cleary and now have regrets, while a host of injuries have SuperCoaches scrambling ahead of the big bye.

Papali'i scores in club record game

Sunday action is over and here are the SuperCoach winners and losers.

SUPERCOACH LOSERS

* Nathan Cleary (49) - 55.7% per cent of SuperCoaches captained Cleary and now have regrets. He touched the ball a lot but never got the final touch or even a try contribution.

* Terrell May (78) - When 78 is a fail you know it’s been a good season. But as captain of 21.3 per cent of teams the POD hunters got ahead this week.

* Savelio Tamale (4) – Carried off with what appeared to be a serious medial ligament injury. He’ll be the most popular sell of the upcoming week.

* Cody Walker (39) – Had some classy touches in his return from a calf injury and was attracting some SuperCoach attention at just $350,000. But he’s injured again, this time with a groin issue.

* Corey Horsburgh (55) – Solid showing in what will be his farewell match for many SuperCoaches given Canberra’s tough upcoming bye schedule.

* Zac Hosking (59) – You’d expect more given he scored a try. Hasn’t quite lived up to expectations after being a popular buy a few weeks ago. Will be another popular sell in the coming week.

* Joe Tapine (53) – Not the usual work rate or minutes from the top prop as the attention turned to Papali’i in his milestone game.

* Tom Starling (37) – Starved of opportunities as the Rabbitohs dominated the opening exchanges. Owen Pattie notched two try assists when he came on for Starling.

SUPERCOACH WINNERS

* Thomas Jenkins (148) - Three tries from the fifth most sold player. That’s a SuperCoach dagger/masterstroke depending what side you’re on.

* Keaon Koloamatangi (105) – A try and enormous work rate in his Origin audition. Although he appears to have fallen just short for the Blues with Stefano Utoikamanu confirmed to take the Origin spot of Mitch Barnett (ACL).

* Ethan Strange (116) – Hasn’t been a SuperCoach factor for most of the season but was the best player on the ground. Two tries and faultless goalkicking.

* Josh Papali’i (106) – A SuperCoach must-have from years gone past wound back the clock with two tries.

* Hudson Young (80) – Another very strong showing from the top 2RF in SuperCoach.
