THE World and Indigenous All Stars went hammer and tongs all night, but it was Cameron Smith’s World side who came up trumps in a 12-8 thriller at Suncorp Stadium.

With no quarter given by either side in the opening 20 minutes hits were landed on both sides early, but it wasn’t until Warriors centre Konrad Hurrell burrowed over from dummy half that the scoring was opened after half an hour’s play.

The Indigenous side hit back through rookie Panthers big man Leilani Latu just before the main break, only for the World side to hit the front again straight after through Fijian powerhouse Semi Radradra, who went over in the corner after sharp lead-up work by Jarrod Croker and Gareth Widdop.

A try to Indigenous All Stars winger Dane Gagai to kick off the final quarter had over 37,000 fans on the edge of their seats as a thriller loomed, but the World side held on to deny the Greg Inglis’ outfit a third straight win.
