At the start of the year we sat down our award-winning rugby league team and got them to pen their bold predictions for the 2022 NRL season.

Who was going to make their way into the top eight? Who was shaping up to be the biggest disappointment?

And, of course, who was going to win the competition?

It’s fair to say we didn’t nail everything – but not many people, perhaps excluding coach Todd Payten, would’ve had North Queensland sitting in the top four at this point of the season.

Then again, in rugby league nothing ever really goes to plan.

So at the halfway mark of the season, let’s review what we got right, what we got wrong... and have another crack at seeing how the rest of the year plays out.
