Cooper Cronk will appear on Fox Sports again this year, kicking off on Thursday night alongside Yvonne Sampson for the Eels-Bulldogs season opener.

There had been media speculation that Cronk would be leaving the network and heading to Channel 9. It was more about Fox Sports boss Steve Crawley playing hard ball in negotiations.

“He’ll be a good commentator and an important part of our team,” Crawley said.

Producers have loaded Cronk up with a huge schedule for round one. He is on Thursday night in the studio, Friday night in Canberra and Super Saturday at Penrith for the Panthers-Roosters game.
