After 25 gripping rounds, only eight teams remain in contention for the NRL 2019 premiership as finals kick-off on Friday night.

While Storm and Roosters remain the favourites for the title, nothing is guaranteed in sport and some moutwatering clashes await this weekend.

The Monday Bunker crew featuring Tim Gilbert, Fatima Kdouh, Paul Crawley and Mike Colman will dissect all the finalists and who will win and why in Week 1. Watch in the player above from 12.30pm EST.

And while the matches are locked in, the venues aren’t with the NRL facing uncertainty over Brookvale Oval where asbestos has been detected. It is still to be confirmed where they will play.

Also, finalists will be hit with suspension with the Sea Eagles’ Marty Taupau and the Rabbitohs’ Sam Burgess out for a week while Hudson Young from Canberra faces a significant stint on the sideline for an alleged eye gouge which has been sent straight to the judiciary.

But referees are still not using their powers to send players off and we want to know why.
