Kevin Proctor could face a disciplinary charge following the Gold Coast’s win over Canberra

GOLD Coast player Kevin Proctor could be in hot water over an alleged “squirrel grip” on Raiders’ winger Jordan Rapana.

TITANS forward Kevin Proctor faces a nervous wait after being accused of a “squirrel grip” by Raiders winger Jordan Rapana.

The incident from Sunday night’s thrilling match at Cbus Super Stadium is expected to come under scrutiny by the NRL’s match review committee on Monday.

In the 51st minute of the clash, Rapana emerged from a tackle involving Proctor and Titans captain Ryan James and gestured to his nether regions.

Kevin Proctor faces a nervous wait following an alleged squirrel grip.

Video footage showed Proctor’s arm go between Rapana’s legs during the tackle.

Rapana appears incensed by the actions of his Kiwi Test teammate and points to the area.

The incident was not placed on report, however it will be reviewed and could lead to a possible charge.

Proctor was strong for the Titans on the right edge, making 15 runs for 104m and 25 tackles in what was one of his better performances for the Gold Coast.

He combined well with halfback Ash Taylor, whose performance was praised by Titans coach Garth Brennan.

Jordan Rapana emerged from a tackle pointing to his groin.

Taylor had a hand in four of the Gold Coast’s five tries as the Titans produced a miracle comeback to beat Canberra 30-28.

“I was happy,” Brennan said.

“He did a really good job, so did Kane (Elgey, five-eighth). They worked well together. It’s exciting.

“Ash has still got a lot of work to do. He still has to work on game management.

“He was tough out there. He was a little busted but dug in and came up with the big play.

“He showed some really good signs.”

Elgey also responded following a slow start and his combination with Taylor grew as the match progressed, the duo combining for a slick try to get the Titans back into the contest.
