Latrell Mitchell is looking primed to return from injury with a bang, judging by the new look physique the Rabbitohs star has unveiled at training.
Mitchell suffered a hamstring injury in a horror pre-season training session that also saw Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray rupture his Achilles, ruling him out for the season.

The right hamstring injury was expected to rule Mitchell out for eight weeks, and he has returned to training, making quite the impression in footage released by South Sydney on Wednesday, which you can watch below.
The 27-year-old looked in superb shape and noticeably trim as he did some running, agility drills and trained on the exercise bike.
Also sporting a beard and a fresh haircut, Mitchell’s lean transformation drew plenty of praise from Rabbitohs supporters, who are eagerly awaiting his return from injury.
“Goodness me he looks fit,” one fan said, while another dubbed Mitchell “Trell-fit”.
“Bro looks mean as with the new look,” a second said.
A third said: “Lock in Trell, looking great”.
A fourth said: “We gonna fly when we get the boys back.”
Supporters were even drawing comparisons between Mitchell and Greg Inglis, the powerful back who won a premiership with Souths in 2014.
“Could be just me but giving me G.I vibes and I’m here for it.,” a fan commented.
Jye Gray has impressed in the early stages of the season at fullback for Souths, and fans urged coach Wayne Bennett to slot Mitchell into the centres.
“Best centre in the world,” one person commented.
“Hopefully Bennett keeps Gray at fullback and Trellmit to centres.”
“Put him at centre,” said another.
Mitchell is nearing a return to action after he was trolled on social media about his injury lay-off.
Earlier this month, Mitchell’s mum took the rare step of confronting “cowards” that are alleged to have posted ugly comments on an image of the Rabbitohs star posted to Facebook.
Mitchell shared a cute photo of himself on a quad bike with his 15-month-old son.
However, the photo of the proud dad was blighted with some abusive messages written in the comments section of the post that appeared on the 27-year-old’s Facebook fan page, which has 46,000 members.
Mitchell’s mum Patricia Goolagong went public to share her “disgust” at some of the comments posted in the comments to the photo, which was posted to the fan page with the caption: “Latrell and his gorgeous son”.
“I’m just sick and tired of these cowards and the way they attack my son and make his life a constant misery,” Goolagong told nine.com.au.
“They really make his life hard and then to bring his little boy into it takes it to a whole new level. It just disgusts me and I wish I could confront these cowards face to face and see how brave they are then.”
It is far from the only time Mitchell has been the target of disgusting abuse.
Last year the NRL banned two spectators for an indefinite period following alleged racial abuse directed at Mitchell and star teammate Cody Walker during a match against the Dragons at Kogarah Jubilee Oval.
He has previously been booed during matches. It was on display again last month when news of his pre-season hamstring injury resulted in a barrage of ugly messages being posted online.
The Rabbitohs are one of five undefeated teams after claiming narrow victories over the Dolphins and St George Illawarra in their first two games of the season.
Jack Wighton has been named to return from this suspension this weekend, while Mitchell, winger Alex Johnston (Achilles), Euan Aitken (pectoral) and Tyrone Munro (collarbone) are expected to be available for selection in the coming weeks.
The Rabbitohs play Cronulla on Saturday afternoon at Shark Park.
