TOUTED as a State of Origin bolter late last year, Tyson Frizell knows he can make a big statement to NSW selectors in Thursday’s NRL clash with Brisbane.

The St George Illawarra enforcer will face off against the Broncos’ trio of Queensland backrowers in Sam Thaiday, Corey Parker and Matt Gillett.

A good display for the struggling Dragons against the Bronco’s in-form pack surely won’t go unnoticed by Blues coach Laurie Daley and his entourage.

“They’re probably one of the form packs in the competition and most of them are in that Queensland Origin team,” Frizell said.

“It’s the games you want to be playing in and the people you want to be coming up against.

“It’s going to be a big test not only for me but for the other boys too.”

The Dragons have based themselves in Brisbane throughout the week following a 36-0 hiding by North Queensland in Townsville last weekend.

Frizell says there were a few home truths told in the wake of that defeat but the mini-camp in Brisbane had been a good way to refocus in the wake of the Cowboys loss.

Tyson Frizell leaves the field after the Dragons 36 — 0 loss to the Cowboys.

“It’s sort of a good thing for us, we can get rid of that bad loss behind us and move on straight away onto the next game,” he said.

“We’re not dwelling on that too much, we’re here to play the Broncos. We’ve forgotten about last week now and we’re ready for this game.”
