BRONCOS halfback Ben Hunt has warned that Brisbane’s attacking best is yet to come.

After falling one point short of winning last year’s premiership, the Broncos are now working towards their best start to a season in a decade, with five wins from six games.

Despite the success, Hunt said Thursday night’s 26-0 win over the Dragons showed they were yet to reach their full potential.

Coach Wayne Bennett was disappointed by his side’s disjointed attack and Hunt agreed, admitting his own form would be key to fixing that over the coming weeks.

“We haven’t hit really our straps attacking-wise the best we can this year,” he said. “We’ve still got a lot work to do.

“We know we didn’t play up to the standard that we wanted to (on Thursday). We made a lot of mistakes with the ball, we threw a lot of silly passes and did some silly things.’’

Hunt, who revealed two weeks ago that he was struggling mentally on the field, said his confidence was back but he was still working on his form.

Despite an improved kicking game, he felt he was “a bit patchy’’ against the Dragons and let his halves partner Anthony Milford control most of the action.

Hunt knows exactly what he has to do to go to another level against the Knights next Saturday.

“I just have to get the ball in my hands a lot more,’’ he said.

“I’m sitting back and letting the forwards do a bit too much and letting Milf take over. The more I can get my hands on the ball, the better it will be.’’
