IT’S the Queensland derby north Queensland waits for every NRL season: The Cowboys chance to beat the big brother Broncos in Townsville.

This derby is especially important with the two clubs desperate for premiership points before the State of Origin series when they will lose top players.

The Cowboys-Broncos clash will be shown live on Channel Nine on Friday night so fans have a good chance to have a look at the players’ form, then rate them.

This season we’re looking for the Fan Favourite at each of the three Queensland NRL clubs with fans invited to rank the players out of 10 each week.

We’ll do the rest by keeping the votes all season.

We won’t give too much away but after round 8 _ a third of a way through the regular season _ the usual “suspects” are leading the way with Corey Parker and Andrew McCullough shining at the Broncos, Johnathan Thurston and Matt Scott leading the way at the Cowboys and the likes of Greg Bird and Nate Myles guiding the Titans.

It’s no surprise five of those six players are co-captains at their clubs.
