The Penrith Panthers are the first team in four decades to win three straight NRL titles after a remarkable comeback over the Brisbane Broncos.
Trailing 24-8 midway through the second half, the Panthers stormed home with three tries to prevail 26-24 in front of 82,000 fans at Accor Australia and complete the premiership hat-trick.
“This doesn’t feel real, feels like a dream,” said star Nathan Cleary, who scored the matchwinning try in the 76th minute.
“We were down but never out, that is our mentality.”
