COREY Norman has been dropped from the Broncos team for their do or die clash with the North Queensland Cowboys this Friday night.

Norman, once viewed as the long-term replacement for club champion Darren Lockyer, will play for the Norths Devils this weekend.

It will be the first time since 2011 he will have played in the Intrust Super Cup/Queensland Cup.

Centre Josh Hoffman replaces Norman at fullback for the Townsville game.

Regular backrower Alex Glenn shifts to the centres, while Sam Thaiday returns to his favoured second row.

Ben Hunt will start at halfback, with Peter Wallace demoted to the bench and to come on as hooker.

Griffin played Wallace at hooker, in the Broncos 56-18 loss to the New Zealand Warriors, earlier this season.

Norman is Parramatta Eels-bound and may have played his last game for the Broncos.

The Broncos have won just six games this year and could be 15th on the ladder by the end of this round.

BRONCOS: Josh Hoffman, Corey Oates, Alex Glenn, Justin Hodges, Lachlan Maranta, Scott Prince, Ben Hunt, Ben Hannant, Andrew McCullough, Josh McGuire, Sam Thaiday, Matt Gillett, Corey Parker. Interchange: Peter Wallace, David Stagg, Mitchell Dodds, Lama Tasi
