Canberra Raiders NRL stars evicted in Las Vegas over bizarre fight

The Canberra Raiders have confirmed two players from the NRL club are facing discipline over a hotel fight in Las Vegas.

Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has confirmed two of his players are facing discipline over a bizarre incident in a Las Vegas hotel.

CODE Sports has reported two players from the NRL club, Hudson Young and Morgan Smithies, came to blows during their first night in the Vegas strip, apparently due to confusion over a room booking at the hotel.

The report states the two players were briefly evicted from the hotel, although police were not involved in the incident.

Hotel security attended the commotion and there were initial fears one of the players was holding a baseball bat, with it later coming to light it was an inflatable bat.

The Raiders have sent out a press release stating the two players will face the media at 8am local time on Monday (3am Tuesday AEDT).

Stuart also confirmed the incident in a brief statement.

“I have spoken to the players who are very embarrassed,” Stuart said.

“The behaviour was unacceptable. The club will deal with this strongly.”

The players are expected to front the media on Monday local time and the NRL is aware of the incident.

The Raiders are in Las Vegas for the start of the NRL season, taking on the Warriors in the opening match at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday March 2.

Penrith is facing the Sharks in the second match of the double-header.
