BRONCOS young gun Jaydn Su’A has declared he wants to be a one-club player and believes the current forward pack can bring the premiership trophy back to Red Hill.

The in-demand Su’A has joined fellow off-contract players Tevita Pangai Jr and Jamayne Isaako in promising his allegiance to the Broncos, if they want him, just one week after coach Wayne Bennett labelled his pack as the most talented he had seen at the club.

Su’A, who has moved into a starting role in Brisbane’s backline this year, has attracted attention from South Sydney and the Gold Coast, but the Broncos are also determined to keep him.

Contract negotiations are continuing for the 20-year-old, who came into consideration for a Queensland Origin debut this month.

And while Su’A said he would always consider a move if it meant a better opportunity, he wanted to stay at the Broncos and finish his career as a one-club player.

“It’s every kid’s dream to be a one-club player. That’s 100 per cent what I want to do,” he said.

“It’s about where the best opportunity is and where the best spot is to fulfil your potential. Regardless if that’s here or not, I’ll make that decision. But I want to stay here.

“I hope they want me.”

Off-contract duo Pangai Jr and Isaako have made similar statements this year, with a promising future awaiting the Broncos if they can retain the talented trio alongside Corey Oates and Matt Lodge, who are also yet to sign on for 2019 and beyond.

Bennett said last week that his crop of young forwards was the best he had seen come through Brisbane’s ranks at one time.

Su’A was blown away by the comment from the coach, but he also has that belief.

Pangai Jr, Lodge and Joe Ofahengaue have all been in strong form this year alongside Su’A, while Payne Haas and David Fifita have shown promise in their first-grade appearances.

Combined, Su’A believes they have the potential to deliver Brisbane’s first premiership since 2006.

“That’s something special coming,” he said.

“You can already see the likes of Tevita and Joe and how well they’ve been doing this year. I want to be part of that. It would be a special thing for the club.

“Our players want to bring the trophy back. It’s been a while but that’s the plan.”

The Broncos will start their run to the finals on Sunday, when they host the eighth-placed Warriors, aiming for a crucial top-four finish.

Su’A will start again in the backrow, despite battling a partial tear in the arch of his foot.
