Israel Folau is determined to resume his professional sporting career in rugby league — but it one of his former clubs has distanced himself from the controversial star.
Folau played two seasons for the Broncos before switching to rugby union — via a stint in the AFL — and had reportedly been linked with a return to Brisbane.
The Broncos released a media statement on Sunday, declaring that “the club has not expressed any interest in signing Israel Folau”.
“Contrary to media speculation, the Broncos have not been part of discussions of any kind with the player,” the statement read.

“The club’s roster is settled for the 2020 season. We wish Israel well in the future.”
While Brisbane is out of the running, Folau has been training up to three hours a day in a bid to reignite his football career in the NRL.
