Trindall & Moses involved in heated exchange

Sharks five-eighth Braydon Trindall was involved in a heated war of words with Mitchell Moses after he was placed on report for taking the Eels halfback out off the ball.

In a tight battle, the Sharks recorded a 28-18 victory that moves them into the top eight early in Magic Round.

In the 33rd minute and with the Sharks leading 6-0, Trindall flattened Moses off the ball with a shoulder charge and was penalised by referee Peter Gough.

“Mitchell Moses just got levelled out the back,” Cooper Cronk said on Fox League.

“Braydon Trindall has come out and hit the Eels halfback without possession.

“Have to check the contact here, but Trindall races out.”

Gough placed Trindall on report, before the Sharks half sprayed Moses repeatedly saying “you’re a p***y”.

The Eels halfback responded with some words of his own while pointing at his rival’s hairline.

Cronk marvelled at two of the smaller players on the field going at each other.

“There you go Trindall and Moses are into it,” Cronk said.

“Nothing like a couple of halfbacks having a go at each other.”

“There was a fair bit of sarcasm there, I think on the sarcasm meter that’s 11 out of 10,” Andrew Voss said.

“Parramatta penalty and Trindall on report.”

Off the ensuing set the Eels scored through Josh Addo-Carr to make it 6-6 before Briton Nikora responded for the Sharks to give them the lead at half-time.

The teams continued to trade tries, with Sam Stonestreet making the win secure for Cronulla with the final four-pointer nine minutes from full-time.
