BRAD Wing has become the first Australian to throw points in the NFL.
Wing, a punter with the Pittsburgh Steelers, threw a two-point conversion in the final minute of the second quarter against the Baltimore Ravens today.
We couldn't get one, so we will take TWO. Two point conversion. #HereWeGo

Wing was performing his duties as a holder for Steelers’ kicker Shaun Suisham in what looked a routine play to close out the first half.
Suisham, however, did not put his boot through the ball, allowing Wing to sprint to his right and throw to Matt Spaeth for the two-point play.
Wrote earlier about Brad Wing's athleticism and ability to create plays as holder/punter. They have fakes designed for him (this wasn't 1).

Wing is the ninth Australian to play in the NFL after Colin Ridgway, Darren Bennett, Colin Scotts, Ben Graham, Saverio Rocca, Mat McBriar, Chris Bryan and Hayden Smith.
None of those players have thrown for points in an NFL game.
Brad Wing. Still better than Tim Tebow

According to official NFL statistics, three Australians have previously attempted throws in a competitive fixture.
McBriar, a punter, threw for 30 yards after a fourth down fake play for the Steelers last season in a 38-31 victory over Green Bay. He had an incomplete play with the Dallas Cowboys in 2004.
Bennett and Graham, also punters, threw incompletions for the San Diego Chargers (2003) and New York Jets (2006) respectively.
Seth Myers, the former star of Saturday Night Live and current host of Late Night with Set Myers, was among the hordes to comment on Wing’s play on social media.
If anything goes wrong just Wing it #Steelers

It’s been an up-and-down season for the Melbourne-born punter.
Finding consistency has been a problem for him. One day able to punt excellent distances and then being blamed for losses the next. But coach Mike Tomlin has shown faith in the youngster, and he hasn’t missed a game.
While playing for Louisiana State University, Wing became infamous in the SEC division for another trick play, but this time involving him scoring a touchdown.
Even though the touchdown would later be called back due to Wing’s pre-touchdown celebration being deemed unsportsmanlike, the Aussie won over fans for his ‘swagger’ as a punter.
And it seems that confidence hasn’t left him.
