IF you’re going to celebrate a touchdown, you’d better make sure you actually score that touchdown.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins learned that lesson the hard way against the New York Jets, when he began showboating as he approached the end zone for what would have been an 89-yard touchdown.

But he was blissfully unaware that Jets player Saalim Hakim was still hot on his heels, and Hakim dragged him down just five yards shy of what would have been the longest touchdown in the NFL this year.

Watkins’ only saving grace was that Buffalo went on to score on the drive anyway, when fullback Frank Summers ran the ball in.

The Bill’s No. 4 draft pick also made amends by scoring a 61-yard touchdown late in the game.
