‘Nasty AF’: Ex-UFC fighter Paige VanZant ‘found her calling’ in Power Slap stunner

Former UFC fighter turned OnlyFans creator Paige VanZant has jumped into yet another combat sport, knocking her opponent to her knees twice.

Fighter turned OnlyFans creator Paige VanZant has impressed in her first foray into the controversial world of Power Slap.

Power Slap is the brainchild of UFC boss Dana White and sees competitors slapping each other across the face over three rounds with the aim of getting a knockout.

The 30-year-old VanZant, a former UFC fighter who also tried her hand at the Bare Knuckled Fighting Championship and boxing, took on Christine Wolmarans, a former MMA fighter herself, in her debut at Power Slap 8.

VanZant, who is arguably better known for her OnlyFans account, claimed a unanimous decision after knocking her opponent to her knees twice.

The second and third rounds saw Wolmarans wobbling, using the podium to balance herself and then taking a knee, which led to a count from the referee.

Wolmarans’ slaps on VanZant appeared to have little effect as the 30-year-old claimed a win in her first match in the promotion.

Some fans were impressed by what they saw.

YouTuber Kenny Okoye commented: “No joke. This is the BEST Paige Vanzant has ever looked in ANY combat sport she’s participated in. She’s found her calling.”

Fellow YouTuber Nina-Marie Daniele said: “Paige VanZant is a BAD**S! Congratulations on your Power Slap victory!”

Another fan commented: “@paigevanzant is NASTY AF at @powerslap!!! Look at this!! She’s a beast!!”

But there were plenty more fans who claimed VanZant had fouled after she flinched and turned her chin away from the slap, although she was not penalised.

Others suggested it was “so sad” to see her in Power Slap, with one fan saying: “Thought she’d get close to a Ronda level of fame/greatness in the UFC.”

Power Slap has been heavily criticised due to the possibility for head injuries for the direct head contact.

Asked why she took up the new sport, VanZant said: “Because I’m a woman that does whatever the f**k I want, and right now, I want to do Power Slap.”

Speaking after the fight, VanZant suggested she’ll return to the podium for another go round at Power Slap.

“Honestly, it was absolutely incredible,” VanZant said.

“Of course I wanted to knock her out with the first slap, but I’m so happy that it went the way that it did.

“I knew I could take a punch, I knew I could take a slap. That was really fun.

“Honestly this is too much fun to walk away from. That was so awesome. I told you all, I’m a gangster.”

VanZant previously fought in the UFC but in 2020 announced she was walking away from the octagon for the Bare Knuckled Fighting Championship (BKFC).

After two loses in the BKFC, VanZant appeared to be done with combat sports, instead focusing on her lucrative OnlyFans account.

VanZant told Barstool Sports’ Only Stans podcast in 2023 she had made “more money in 24 hours on OnlyFans than I had in my entire fighting career”.

But VanZant returned to combat sports this year, trying her hand at boxing in a Misfits Boxing event where she fought fellow OnlyFans creator Elle Brooke.

VanZant was knocked down by Brooke but bounced back to claim a split decision draw.

A rematch is reportedly being teased for August.
