MEET the most adorable little sports fan you’ve ever seen.

Eight-year-old Liam Fitzgerald is a mad supporter of National Hockey League team the Boston Bruins, and was filmed fist bumping the entire team as it left the ice after a pre-game warm-up this week.

Fitzgerald, who has Down syndrome, was given a seat next to the Bruins bench, and took full advantage by thrusting his little fist at every Bruins player who came within reach.

The little boy might just be as tough as all of his hockey heroes, having recently beaten Leukaemia after a three-and-a-half-year battle.

He’ll soon start receiving daily injections of human growth hormone, which he’ll need until his 18th birthday.

Just don’t mistake Fitzgerald as your average sports fan.

He’s a dyed-in-the-wool Bruins tragic who’d rather watch replays of Boston games than kids cartoons.

“He’s so small and cute,” his mother Christine told the Obnoxious Boston Fan blog.

“He recognises the players. But he’s not a three-year-old. He knows who these guys are, their positions. He understands the game.”

“It amazes me, given what he’s gone through in his eight years of living. He just goes on. Soon he will start growth hormones every day. It doesn’t phase him. He just goes on.”
