A standout performance from Marsden fullback Apa Twidle has helped the visitors to a dominant win over rivals Mabel Park in the Langer Trophy Logan derby.
Twidle along with halves Coby Black and Cody Hamilton pulled all of the right strings while their strike weapons in the backline finished it off with class in the 50-14 victory.

The fullback was dynamic in the backfield and took advantage of several moments of broken play to set up tries for his outside men including centre Devonte Vaivela and winger Haizyn Mellars.
Marsden were forced to withstand a fighting effort from the staunch Mabel Park forward pack in a clash that was as physical as it was frenetic.
Despite their best efforts in a fiery first half, Mabel Park stared down the barrel of a 30-6 halftime deficit and it didn’t get any better in the second half.

Winners of the school’s first ever home and away Langer Trophy last season, slow starting Marsden SHS have found their mo-jo in term 2 with the return of players like Will Semu (centre) and Jieye Mauai (edge) back in business, Cody Hamilton settling in at five-eight and Jacob Tinsley working well at dummy half as the team’s ball control improves.

LOGAN GIRL POWER HAD ORIGIN HEROES CHEERING WILDLY
Marsden has been the Logan district’s schoolboy league leader, but little brother Mabel Park was now on the scene.
Mabel were promoted for the first time last season and after a near miss against St Mary’s in 2021, claimed its first ever two wins this season - over Redcliffe SHS and Coombabah SHS.
