We reveal the stars of the Southern Queensland under-15 girls cricket challenge
Queensland’s top under-15 girls’ cricketers faced off for a week of hard-fought action in Toowoomba for the 2024 QJC Southern Challenge. We have run the rule across the five days of competition to name our team of the tournament.

The Queensland Junior Cricket Championships are back and the Garden City is hosting the under-15 Girls Southern Challenge.
With some of the best stars of the future battling it out in Toowoomba, we are shining a light on the star players from each day and revealing a team of the competition at the conclusion of the challenge.
Day 5
The Under 15 challenge reached its conclusion on Friday, with BEARS claiming a dominant 71 run win over Brisbane North in the grand final, MSW sealing a thrilling four run win over Gold Coast to claim third, DDSWQ defeating Coastal to take fifth and QJC President’s defeating SEQ in the seventh place playoff.

Day 4
The final round of pool games took place on Day 4, with BEARS securing a comfortable win over Gold Coast and Coastal downing SEQ in a hard fought contest in Pool A.
In Pool B, Brisbane North defeated DDSWQ in a thriller, while MSW proved too good for the QJC President’s side.
After four days of action, BEARS and Brisbane North finished on top of their respective pools, with Gold Coast and MSW taking second place, Darling Downs and Coastal third and SEQ and QJC President’s finishing fourth.

Day 3
After a washout on Day 2, action resumed in the Garden City on day 3.
Like the first day, only the morning session went ahead, with rain washing out the afternoon’s fixtures.
BEARS once again showed their class as they claimed a dominant win via the DLS rule.
Batting first, they scored 6-135 from their 20 overs before holding SEQ to 6-20 from 6.5 overs before rain intervened.
Gold Coast also picked up a DLS win as it posted 6-110 batting first before holding Coastal to just 7-28 after 12.1 overs.
Brisbane North was victorious over the QJC President’s team while MSW defeated Darling Downs South West Queensland by 19 runs.

Day 1
The opening day of the competition saw just four games played, with rain abandoning the chances of games in the afternoon.
However, there were still opportunities for the young guns to shine.
BEARS (Brisbane East and Redlands) sent a statement to the competition with a dominant 76-run win over Coastal, while Gold Coast’s bowlers starred in a 60-run win over SEQ as they bowled their opponents out for just 23 runs.
The hosts - Darling Downs and South West Queensland - kickstarted their campaign strongly with a 26-run win, while Brisbane North claimed a comfortable eight-wicket win over Metropolitan South West (MSW).
