Runcorn SHS’s Angus Loft scooped the pool at the Queensland youth and under 23 weightlifting competition.
Loft won a gold in the under 20 division and a bronze medal in the under 23 division. He was competing in the 89.1 to 96 kg weight.
Loft completed five or six lifts for a total 155 kgs, with a personal best of 70 kgs in the snatch lift.

He has been lifting for four years and training out of Magnetic Weightlifting Club.
“Angus is an excellent role model and school captain at Runcorn SHS,’’ said Health and Physical Education & Sport head Ben Brown.
“Runcorn SHS are excited to expand their weightlifting athletes and affiliation with CrossFit Magnetic in 2020.’’

He said coaches Jess Latorre and Leolene Baul were helping the students.
“Leolene and Jess both have great passion and experience in female club, regional and state sport,’’ Brown said.
