The regular season is done and now it’s down to the business end of the Basketball Queensland QSL competition as teams battle it out in the do-or-die semi-finals.
Teams from around southeast Queensland will return to the court after more than a month following the state’s recent Covid lockdown and the stakes could not be higher with a spot in the season’s championship game on the line.

And while NewsCorp has live-streamed games of the week from the QSL Division 1 competition all year, we will also be covering one of the Division 2 semi-finals.

Saturday’s games will start with the Brisbane Capitals hosting the Gold Coast Rollers in the women’s division one grand final qualifier at Auchenflower Stadium at 1pm.
The match-up will see the second and third-placed teams from the regular season go head-to-head for the third time this season.
Action at Auchenflower Stadium will continue at 3pm with the minor premier Brisbane Capitals hosting the fourth-placed University of Sunshine Coast Rip City.
The Capitals have been the most consistent team all season, led by former NBL coach Bruce Palmer, while the Rip have struggled for consistency, they have recorded some key victories including beating the North Gold Coast Seahawks.
The rest of our live-streamed games will be at the Runaway Bay Indoor Sports Centre, starting at 4pm with the QSL Division 2 semi-final between the North Gold Coast Seahawks 2 and Southern Districts Spartans 2.
The undefeated Seahawks women will then be looking to continue their dominant season in the QSL Division 1 competition when they host the Spartans at 6pm.
Led by the likes of Lauren Jansen, Courtney Willemse and the supporting crew, the Seahawks have rolled through the regular season and will go into the grand final qualifier as the heavy favourites against a Spartans side which just managed to scrape into the top four.
The QSL semi-finals will then finish at 8pm with an epic Gold Coast derby match as North Gold Coast host the Gold Coast Rollers in the QSL Division 1 competition.
Both teams have split the season’s match-ups, setting up a much anticipated clash between the local rivals.
The Seahawks are filled with talent who are experienced in big games such as former NBL star Rhys Martin as well as former NBL squad member David Gurney, while the Rollers also have a star-studded team led by big man Joshua Leaney.
