Palm Beach Currumbin 6.2.38 have beaten Narangba Valley in 1.1.7 in the final game of Pool A and have booked themselves in for the finals in October by finishing on top of the Pool.
PBC Coach Jarrod Wells praised the girl’s effort off the ball saying they really lifted the intensity and will be looking to replicate it in the final.
Elli Boyd kicked two goals for PBC, Mia Giles kicked two making it three for the day and Caitlin Thorne also kicked a goal.
“Our conversion has been a bit of an issue so we were able to turn that around and we’ve been working with the girls to turn those behinds into goals and take the other side out of the game pretty quickly,” Mr Wells said.
Narangba Valley finished third in Pool A and will have a chance against the second placed side in Pool B to qualify.
GAME 6
Park Ridge 2.2.14 have secured their qualification into the finals of the SEQ invitational by beating Helensvale 2.0.12 in a very close contest.

GRAND FINAL
Palm Beach Currumbin Senior Women have won the SEQ AFL Invitational after a clinical performance against Park Ridge winning 6.6.42 to 0.
The team with 13 Gold Coast Suns Academy players continued to build over the day with a lot of players standing out during the day.
“The girls are getting a lot of quality football in them at the moment which has been great considering there were times where it was looking like we weren’t going to get any footy at all,” head coach Jarrod Wells said.
Mia Giles is the day’s leading goal scorer with 5 kicking another two, Bella Iverach, Lily Wundke, Sally Evans and Yasmin Glifos also kicked goals.
“Mia Giles has been great, Caitlin Thorne has been outstanding playing pretty much every position on the ground so our senior girls have really stood up and led the way for us today which has been great.”
QUALIFYING FINAL 1
Mountain Creek who only have one Grade 12 in the side have qualified for the finals in October beating Miami 3.3.21 to 0.1.1 in a strong performance.
Coach Peter Bock was delighted with the way the young group used their strengths to get through the qualifiers.
“We really linked up well through our hand passes and really played for one another,” Mr Bock said.
Rogue Hollis, Brooklyn Warren and Zoe Smith all kicked goals in the do or die game.
“We had to use the ball a bit more rather than just kicking it long, we used our running game and hands.”
“Amber Swan was great all day alongside Neve Underwood.
Miami will unfortunately miss out on the finals next month.
QUALIFYING FINAL 2
The last game of the day had it all, excitement, drama, big hits and an after the siren attempt to win.
Narangba Valley came through in the nick of time against Helensvale in extra time winning 2.2.14 to 1.2.8.
Both of these teams had performed well throughout the day so it was always going to be a tight match, but no one would have predicted it would come down to extra time.
There was an after the siren attempt at goal from Helensvale from 40 metres out, which was on target but fell just short.
Then in extra time Narangba hit their stride and won what was a great game.
Narangba’s goal kickers were Emma Schofield and Mikayla Pauga, who was a standout and kicked the winning goal in extra time.
Coach Ashleigh Hales said her side was great with their skills and in defence, despite missing 10 players due to an English exam.
