“He keeps going up a peg,’’ said his co-coach Mark Wilson from the Bethania Boxing Club.

Wilson, who co-coaches Huni with his father Rocki, said his man was not at his best in winning a silver medal at last month’s Olympic qualifying event in Jordan.

Wilson said the “stop-start’’ nature of the qualifying event and drawing an easier preliminary fight than expected may have taken the edge off Huni.

“His timing was not there, he could not find his feet.’’

But Wilson said Huni had gained valuable experienced and knowledge about the powerhouse Jalolov.

“We know where we are at and know what we have to do to beat the guy. And we have another 12 months to prepare.

“He learnt from it. He knows himself he can beat the guy. He has the skills to beat him. We just have to fight the right game plan and be allowed to do it.’’
