The Northern region’s Vicki Wilson Cup champions have earnt the right to represent the region at the state finals following an action-packed day in Townsville.
The three champions will join 49 other teams in the finals series at Nissan Arena, Brisbane, in August.
The Kirwan Cougars stunned their opposition to finish on top of the senior Cup Championship undefeated, with a perfect seven wins from seven games.
In the boys’ division Ignatius Park College were crowned champions by the smallest of margins, relying on a favourable goal percentage (120.75) to edge out Kirwan (118.64) and The Cathedral School (117.54) who each also finished with four wins, a draw and a loss.
Ryan Catholic College went through the Shield Championship (year 7-9 girls) undefeated to narrowly beat St Margaret Mary’s College, who ended up in second place with one loss after being defeated by Ryan 16-15 in round 3.
