The road to the Commonwealth Games will be paved with hip tosses and holds as the Judo Australia National Championships take over the Gold Coast this weekend.

News Corp will be your exclusive all access pass to watch all of the action from the national championships this weekend.

There will be several exciting stories to unfold over the weekend’s action including the return of Australian gold medal hopeful Joshua Katz.

The 66kg judoka has faced of horror 18-month run of serious injury setbacks, but with the Commonwealth Games on the horizon he is ready to springboard to Birmingham on the back of a dominant national championships display.

There is also 90kg excitement machine Harrison Cassar, who is searching for his first national championships victory.

But all of the action kicks off with the champions of the future on Saturday, as News Corp brings you the action from the junior boys and girls, junior teams and the senior boys and girls.

Some of Australia’s brightest young competitors will feature on the opening day of action including exciting trio Avalon Anskey (Victoria) and Koshei Toyoshima (Queensland).

The duo were selected as part of Australian teams earlier this year competing overseas, and will be determined to bring that form back to the mats in their home championships.
